Being married to a professional dancer has afforded me the unique opportunity of providing sound editing, creating original musical scores, and narration recording, not only for my wife, but for numerous members of Frequent Flyers Productions, as well.
The Process...
The equipment used for the recording process is mobile, so I can either host recording sessions for voice-over within the studio, or I can come to you for recording (Boulder, Ft.Collins, Denver), and finish the editing process back at the 'lab'. The fees are based on a sliding scale, as determined by the budget set for your show. I will keep a log of the hours spent working on the project, and then submit the hours once the editing has been satisfactorily completed. Once we discuss the initial ideas and needs for the project, you will be asked to provide notes for the performance that are timestamped where you would like edits to occur, as well as the audio files. Please refer to this example. Original scores would be discussed in greater detail. When the project is finished, I will provide you with both physical CD's, and a digital copy, which you may download at your leisure.
About me...
My name is Darren Harper. I have over 20 years experience as a musician and sound artist. I've had the good fortune of releasing my works on various international, independently owned and operated 'micro' labels and net labels. My compositional work is very experimental in nature, and often falls comfortably in the 'ambient/sound art' musical genre. I feel this allows me to think 'outside the box', and provide a more open, non-traditional approach to the recording and editing process.
